Workshops and Practices
Join Portland Swing Project for a swing "crash course" and learn the fundamentals of swing dancing on a Sunday!
​We'll teach you basic movements and footwork to get you out on the dance floor, and we'll show you how to connect with any dance partner. We rotate partners in class so you'll get a chance to dance with everyone, and we give plenty of practice time to music to build confidence.
Absolute beginners welcome, no partner needed.

Join Portland Swing Project for Saturday Swing Workshops this fall!
Join instructors Becca, Ashlee, and Kento for an hour-long workshop followed by a 30-minute practice with instructor feedback.
Prerequisite: See each topic below for prerequisites. Most workshops ask that you're a B-level and above dancer (swingout basics, both 6 and 8-count Lindy Hop, and fundamentals of Charleston), but the "Swingout Workshop" welcomes anyone who has taken our A-level 8-Count Lindy Hop class. If you have zero experience please consider attending a Tuesday weekly class or a Thursday Night Dance.
Instructors: Becca Pruente, Kento Ichikawa, and Ashlee Lombard (you will have two instructors at each practice)
When: Saturdays from 10:30am-Noon

Prerequisite: Anyone who has completed the A-level 8-Count Lindy Hop Class Series

11/15 - Smooth Steals - How to Jump into a Birthday Jam and other 'Steal' Dances
Prerequisite: B-level and above dancers

12/13 - Switching Lead-Follow Roles During a Dance (for this workshop you should be comfortable with the basics of both leading and following)
Prerequisite: B-level and above dancers
